Editorial policy

More context.
Fewer assumptions.

Choosing a game should be a little easier. Game Revs brings documented features, practical considerations and a clear point of view into one readable place.

We ask what a game offers, who its design might suit, and what a prospective player should verify. You can follow our sources and decide how much weight to give our conclusions.

The facts tell you what a game offers.
The context helps you decide.
01 / THE EVIDENCE

Show the sources.

We favour official developer, publisher and platform information for factual claims, link it directly, and say when it was checked.

02 / THE PERSPECTIVE

Name the limits.

Research can explain a proposition. It cannot replace playing. We clearly distinguish documented facts from editorial judgment.

03 / THE READER

Make it useful.

We consider fit, platform details and important caveats. A recommendation means little without explaining who it might be right for.

How these reviews are made.

The library contains 436 AI-assisted, research-based reviews: 436 editorially approved and 0 awaiting human review. Each article synthesises primary sources and makes original suitability judgments. No hands-on play, hardware testing, interview, review score or independently tested accessibility claim is presented.

“Game Revs” is the publication byline for that work, not a claim that a staffed testing team has played the game. The current articles are AI-assisted and research-based. We have not played or tested these editions. Their opinions are editorial inferences from the linked sources, not firsthand experiences. Future hands-on work should be labelled separately and describe the edition, platform and testing performed.

One game, one review.

A game has one canonical article, even when it appears on several platforms. We verify each platform label, distinguish native editions from backward compatibility and legacy releases, and keep important differences within the same article. Search recognises platform aliases, and filters show the same review without duplicate results.

A considered take, without a made-up score.

We currently use an unscored format. Each review explains the game's documented proposition, reasons to look closer, and things to check first. We do not convert other publications’ ratings into our own or present community sentiment as personal experience.

Corrections and changing information.

Game features, platform support and store information change. Each article names its scope and research date. Material corrections should be recorded on the relevant article, with sources and an updated date. There is no public submission form on the site.

Advertising and independence.

The small advertising spaces are inactive layout placeholders. There is no live ad code, ad tracking, AdSense approval or affiliate arrangement in this edition. Advertising remains inactive. AI-assisted articles need meaningful human review and curation before monetization.

Game names belong to their respective owners. All visual title artwork is original Game Revs typography and abstract geometry, not game imagery or logos. Game Revs is not affiliated with Valve, Steam or any game publisher.
